No, I think your plugin has updated and it is your caching system that is misleading you.
To check this, you just have to go in your folder and file server tree. In "content/plugins" look for the plugin "commercegurus-commercekit" and edit the file "commercegurus-commercekit.php" to read the version.

Is there a message telling you that you can't download the data or are you missing the product photos?

So, with a 500 error:
1) maybe it's the configuration of php.ini values.
To be sure, you should see the logs.

So, let us know what the error is, so we can help you further.
2) Is this a new site, with nothing? If so, you can use WP Reset Plugin to clean it up if too much data is causing problems.
3) your store is in production and you already have orders. If yes, depending on the quantity of orders (a lot), it can generate errors with Woocommerce during the import.
