if you want to merge both pages, the work depends on the level of integration, can be a lot of work or just a little.
For example, if you want to forward from your site to the ultimate pos, you should try to create a button with the href attribute pointing to the page where it´s store the ultimate pos.

I'd no issues so far regarding speed. I've seen many users saying it's slow while scanning products or other options but no issues on my installation.
