Thanks for your response. I've tried it several times and also read the troubleshooting article. However, the 'background-css' folder does not exist, and even after creating the folder and setting the permissions to 755, it is being deleted automatically after a while, leading to an error when updating posts or pages.

To fix the problem, you need to perform several actions:
1. Deactivate and remove the WP Rocket plugin.
2. Remove all caching plugins incompatible with the WP Rocket plugin.
Disable caching in the Theme settings, if there is such a function.
3. Deactivate, at the time of troubleshooting, all protection plugins
((especially such as Anti-Hacker and so on).
4. Optimize and clean the Database with the Advanced Database Cleaner PRO plugin - you need to be able to use this plugin (before using it, make a backup of the Database). You need to remove all the remnants of previously installed plugins from the Database.
5. If all WordPress folders are not restored, you need to download it and reinstall it from the archive. If you can't do it yourself, contact the Hosting Support Service - they will help solve the problem.
6. After fixing the problem, install and activate the WP Rocket plugin.
Check his work.
7. Activate all disabled plugins (only necessary ones).

It seems like this feature needs to use the developer's server to load and consider removing unused css, so it won't be nulled if I'm thinking right.

To work on "removing extra CSS" and get rid of the message "We were unable to generate the CSS used to use a nulled version of WP Rocket. It needs an active license to use the Remove Unused CSS feature and further use your website results," follow these steps:

1. In the file "Subscriber.php" located at the following path, delete line 111:
"/wp-content/plugins/wp-rocket/inc/Engine/Optimization/RUCSS/Admin/Subscriber.php"

Code to be removed:

'pre_get_rocket_option_remove_unused_css' => 'disable_russ_on_wrong_license',

2. In the file "APIClient.php" at the same previous path, replace lines 60 and 61 with the following code:

Removing unused CSS only works in the licensed version. Read the previous comments.
To remove unused CSS, install the Perfmatters plugin or the free Debloat plugin.

A balance of WP Rocket and Perfmatters (for unused css and other benefits), and the use of a decent page builder i.e Oxygen or Bricks gives you some amazing results.

Not forgetting optimisation of images (without any use of plugins) by using https://squoosh.app/ and opting for a minimum of 10 to 15 plugins max, all checked by https://wphive.com/ for their speed, security and more, helps with overhaul optimisation and security

This can also be a cause of your hosting company. Try and avoid shared hosting, and if you cannot for cost purposes, use a WP hosting package for the benefit of PHP memory, security, backup and more. All sites on these platforms are using the same CMS and helps reduce issues with security and much better support, especially for clients etc.

There is more you can do to help but never always rely on Google or GT Metrix for their accuracy and honesty. If you build a site with speed and optimisation in mind you should be fine.

I agree with this. Google has said core web vitals are an important ranking factor, so the basic idea should be to make the user experience for the visitors.
